24-48 hour Holter are devices used to record the heart's electrical activity while you are mobile.
These monitors are small enough to be worn comfortably on the body, and can usually be carried in a pocket or special monitor holder worn around your waist or over your shoulder. The monitors feature sensors that are placed on your chest with adhesive patches so the devices can pick up electrical signals from your heart.
Sometimes, it may be necessary to slightly shave the chest in order to apply the electrodes.
